Today was the Charitable Trust 5K also known as the Minuteman 5K. I started out feeling sick to my stomach but when I got warming up it started to go away. I warmed up with Kevin, Dylan, and Vuong. Then we went to the bathroom, met up with the rest of the team and did drills and strides. The strides I was pushing them because when we went to the bathroom I totally lost my warm up. So we went to the starting line and the CANNON went off!!! It was a freaking Cannon and not a gun. But anywase I started out fast because I wanted to see how fast I could push my first mile, I was right with Kevin and Vuong. For our first mile was 6:23 which is good but it was a bit down hill, the second mile was a bit off because my Garmin said 2 miles about 20 meters before the 2 mile sign but my watch said 13:15 or something and they yelled it as 13:30. Up till this point I was with Kevin and Vuong. At about the mile mark Abigail caught up to me and stuck with me until she, Kevin and Vuong broke away from my on the uphills and I just couldn't keep up with them. At this point my goal was just to finish doing a sub 7 minute mile. That last hill at the very end was a bit longer than a half mile because the race was 3.14 (pi) haha instead of 3.1 so we did a bit more up hill. When I got to the up hill I really sprinted it all out because Kylie was coming up on me and I didn't want her to pass me. Then me, Bill, Kevin, Vuong, Kylie, and her dad all did a mile and a half cooldown and went and ate our breakfast:) Then when I got home I did my core.... No leg weights today
