Race: Highland Tri Meet (3 Miles) 00:19:50, Place in age division: 9
Total Distance
7.00

Today was a tri meet at Sugarhouse Park. So as a team, we ran the first 2 miles of the race to get used to it again. The course was, the first two miles were the exact same as the state course then on the third you go straight, around the pond again, down to the drinking fountain and around that corner then finish on the soccer field. So we change shoes after cheering for the girls finishing then we head to the starting line. I got 2 really good strides in before they call us to hear what the course is. So we line up and the gun goes off. I start out pretty fast, up with Dylan but then some Highland Kid sticks his hand out or foot or something and tries to trip me or knock me out of the race. IM LIKE WHO THE F$%K DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!! So I speed up again and catch back up to Sam and Caden passing the highland kid and so nicely elbowing him in the stomach:) So we all are running down on the flat part and I know I need to get distance on Sam, Caden and Kevin because I knew I was going to die going up the hill so I sprint down the hill but they stuck with me. Going up the hill, they didn't get too far ahead of me so I caught back up to them. Going around the pond I kicked Goose poop up on my leg..... IT WAS SOOOOO GROSS!! Thats when they got ahead of me. So going up the hill again I was trying to catch up to them but they weren't getting closer to me or farther away, we were going the same pace. I look down at my pace and it is faster than I thought it would be so I continue running the same speed but then I realize I am almost done so I start picking up the pace. Then making the final turn I catch back up to some Bountiful kid and we are like booking it!! I was in front then him, then I was, then he was and it went like this the whole sprint. It was the closest time ever!!! I still don't know who won that, they put our tags next to eachothers because the officials don't know who won it either. Then Caden and I did a mile cooldown. Bill sat us down and gave us the annual regions talk for a few minutes then as a team we went on another mile cooldown. Here is my Garmin Link:

Haha I like how you call it "the annual regions talk"
