Today for cross country, since we have Regions on wednesday we took the day easy. We started with a half mile warm up and then a mile of speed changes. Then we stretched for a little bit waiting for everyone to finish the warm up. The workout was 800, 400, 300, 200, 400, 300, 200. On the first 800 I started out what I didn't seem that fast but I started out with Natalie. Our 800 time was 2:50 which is much faster than what I was doing a week ago with the 3:27. Then my times went like this 78, 58, 32, 74, 55, 35. On the workout today I was feeling really good so I could open up my stride more and push. On the last 200 though I couldn't hear my time so I am not sure what it actually was. Then I did a mile cooldown with Sam. After the workout we took an ice bath that was abnormally cold. Finally when I got home since my hamstrings were really sore today I stretched a ton then I did arm swings and wall sits with a bit more stretching. Here is my Garmin Link:

Today, since tomorrow is regions we went up to The Pioneer Houses for our volunteer project. We cleaned up the place by picking up and loading all of the cut down trees in 3 different yards. Then we went for our run. We just did a little over a mile then six really really really really really really really muddy strides. Then we went to Bills for the Team Dinner. Here is my Blog:

Today since it was regions we went for a JV team warm up. Since I was running JV today I took the JV boys on a 2 mile warm up on the regions course. We did the first 2 miles of the region course as a team slow. Then we went and lined up and did 6 strides. Since we had 2 boxes we were allowed our top 6 guys on the line instead of our top 3. I was on the line with Gio, Me, Gavin, Caden, Andy, and Someone else. The we line up and are ready. The gun goes off and my and one of the black guys go out fast, I wanted to go out fast and get in the top ten and see how long I could hold off being in the top ten. So we get out fast and the black guy is leading it and I am in 4th. There is a group of me, and 3 clearfield guys. So we make it up the first hill and we are all a group still. We go down Bessy fast as a group because I am feeling good. I am trying to get distance on them but they are staying with me. So we make it to the one mile mark and im still in 4th place. But right after the first mile they speed up, I asked one of them this isn't the pace were going at? He laughed at me and said NOO!! So they pick it up and I fall back to the pack behind. This group had Caden and Gavin. I run with them until the second time up bessy but then going down bessy Gavin gets ahead of us. Caden and I stay close until about mile 2. Then we both decide to pick it up and start passing people. I am feeling really good at this point. Then going up the hill near the back fence Caden gets ahead of me and I spend the rest of the race chasing him down. Caden passes the black east guy then I catch up to him. He is staying just ahead of me. But then when we are going up bessy for the last time I start really picking up the pace to get ahead of him. Going down the hill he is about 10 meters ahead of me then he starts kicking. Both him and me are sprinting as fast as we could Im ahead then he is then I am then he is. But then when I start getting good distance on him since he has longer legs he has a faster stride than me so he beats me by .03 of a second:( Then when I am done racing I quickly go put more clothes on and cheer. I did 1.5 miles cooldown some with Susannah cheering on the Varsity Girls and the Varsity Boys. Congratulations Natalie for 1st, Abigail for 2nd and Sarah for 3rd and in the boys side Scott for 5th and Tomy for 10 and CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS for 2nd Place!!!!!!!!! And Boys for 3RD!!! The Boys are going to State!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is my Blog:

Today for cross country we ran down to Liberty. We went straight to the drinking fountain then stretched and waited for everybody, by this point from the downhills my shins were already killing but I decided to try the workout. The workout was 3 sets of 3-2-1 with a recovery of 2-2-1. I started the first set feeling great with no pain, running with Kevin and Gio. Then the second set the pain really hit. I tried to push through it but I was noticing I was getting slower and slower each rep so I dropped out after the second set and stretched and massaged my shins. Then we ran up the hill until I was at 5 miles then walked up the big hill.

Since it is Homecoming the cross country team ran the torch in to light the E. We did so until the wooden torch caught on fire then fell apart while still running and totally burns scott. That was a half mile, Caden and I finished out the last little bit to a half mile.

Today since I couldn't go to XC, I did my own workout. I started with a half mile warm up around Highlands track, a mile of speed changes, timed 400 then I did a lap around the road inside the park.

I had to do my own workout again today. I started around Highlands Track. I did a mile warm up around the track then went over to the 2nd hill on the state course. I did that hill 8 times, my times were 33, 29, 28, 29, 28, 27, 27, 26. Each hill was roughly .07. Then I did a lap around the road as a cooldown.

Today since I had to go to West High to get my Food handlers permit, I had to do a shorter workout. My warm up was a mile warm up then a mile of Js. Then I did a 400 and and 800 then I did a 400 cooldown because I had to go. My times were 79 and 2:45

Today Since I had Peer Court I went to Bills workout. After doing a very awkward mile warm up and mile of speed changes every one changed shoes and we lined up. The workout was 6 800s. But since I had to go to peer court I had to leave early so I could only do 1 800. My time was 2:45. Then I just finished out the mileage until 3

Today I went to Bills workout again. The workout was the shriners run along 11th avenue. I ran with Caden and Andy. We took going there way slow then we pushed up the hill. Then when we got to the drinking fountain we decided to go the full way. When we got to turnaround spot we decided to really try to push and catch people. So we pick up the pace and catch Avvy. Then we see Abigail so we pick up the pace then catch her. Then we really start pushing and Catch Annie and Sam. Overall it was a run we really pushed.

Today for practice I met Levi and Tony at Highlands track for a speed workout. So I jogged down to the track and did a mile of speed changes. Then I stretched for a bit waiting for everybody to get there. Some running club was there also and we decided to run with them. So the workout was originally 2 400s, at 80 pace, 2 800s at 2:40 pace then 1 1200 at 4:20 pace. But since I didn't know if I was running state on Wednesday or not Tony shortened my workout. So Levi and I on the first 400 did 77. Then the second also 77 seconds. Then I had to go to the bathroom but I was trying to hold it in for the rest of the workout. Our 800 was 2:40 exactly and right after the 800 I booked it to the bathroom. I missed the next 800 even though I wasn't going to do it. So on the 1200 I was just supposed to do the last 200 meters with Levi to have him kick it in, which he did really well. Then for a cooldown we did a big lap around the park.

Since today is State and I didn't know if I would be running because I was an alternate Caden and I did a mile warm up cheering for the other "A's". Then we found out we were not racing we cheered hard for 4A girls and Boys giving us 1.5 for the day. Great job Natalie for getting 6th overall!!!!!! Great job for everyone else who ran Abigail, Maggie, Annie, Sarah, Becca, Olivia, Scott, Dylan, Abdullahi, Dakota, Sam, Chris, and Kevin!!!!!!!!!

Since yesterday was state and I was really stupid and decided to run through the river to cheer on the 3A girls and get my feet soaked, I think I got a little cold. So I decided to go for a little run and see how it went. It went horrible!!!!!!!! I made it halfway around Sugarhouse Park feeling like I was going to die!!!!!!!!!!! I just decided to jog back not caring how slow I went. It was horrible!

Today for practice we met at the highland track for practice. I jogged down there for my warm up of a mile. Then I did 3 laps of "Js" which are you sprint for 150 meters then jog for 50 meters. Then I did 3 laps of speed changes sprinting the curves and 3 laps of speed changes sprinting the straight-a-ways. On the last lap I had to go to the bathroom though really bad so I used sprinting to the bathroom as my last one. Then I did an inside road lap in the park as my cooldown. Then some big D-Bag flips me off then sprints away so I had to race him around the park for my cooldown and I did catch him even though he was about 100 meters ahead of me at the starting ;) While I was running, a few people commented on me saying that I was bouncing again. As soon as cross country is over I start bouncing, Any suggestions on stopping it? Weights? Different way on running? Then when I got home I did 3 sets of weighted arm swings. Today for practice I met Levi at the Highland Track for a workout. I jogged over to the track for a mile warm up, then we did 6 laps of "J's" then 2 laps recovery. We then walked over to his car, put my phone in the car and did a timed lap. I started 1 minute ahead of Levi because he has been doing these longer and he has his speed up, so I am going around the park feeling great really pushing up that hill then pushing hard the flat and on the downhill. When I get to the next uphill I am pushing up that hill then I died. Levi passes me on that. My overall time was 9:08 which is a 6 minute mile which is good considering my PR in a 3 mile course is 19:03. Then we did a 1.5 mile cooldown. We decided to do a different lap by going up by highland high school so I could go to the bathroom. When I walked into the bathroom all I saw was a brief case so I thought it was a bomb. But then I saw the person who was the owner of it. Overall it was a good workout that I needed. When I came home I did 3 sets of weighted arm swings. Here is my Garmin Link:

Today I met up at Highland track. I jogged down to the track, forgot to turn on my garmin when I got there so I did actually 1.5 mile warm up but it only shoes 1 mile. Then I did 6 strides, 4 just regular strides then 2 accelerating strides. We went over to the hill and did 6 hills. We started at the first one like 150 yards away from the hill then ran up the hill and over and kicked it to the finish, we did 2 of those. Then we did 100 meters away from the hill then up and over and kick to the finish, we did 2 of those. Then we did 2 right at the bottom of the hill. My times went 37, 37, 37, 37, 28, 28. Then I did  a mile cooldown instead of a 1.5 mile cooldown because there was a creeper driving next to me at my running pace and since it was getting dark I didn't want to take the risk of getting kidnapped, or worse......... When I came home I did my 3 sets of weighted arm swings. Here is my running blog:

Today since I had to go to peer court I went to Bills workout. So we met in the Commons and jogged down to liberty park. We regrouped at the drinking fountain and bill told us what the workout was. It was 2 sets of 2 mile tempo runs. I was in a group with Sarah S, Andy, and Annie. We were supposed to be hitting 8 minute pace but we ended at a 7:15 pace, so a bit faster than supposed to be. Then we jogged back over to the start and restarted. Since I had to go to peer court though I only could do the first half mile of the second one before I had to run up the hill and meet my parents. After peer court I did my 3 sets of weighted arm swings. Here is my Garmin Link:

Today since it was the last day of the quarter I went to Bills workout. It was start at the commons, warm up jog along 1300 East, to South temple, up U street, to the big cemetery then enter the cemetery at Center street or something like that. Wait there for the rest of the team to get there then stride up the hill to 11th avenue then continue striding along 11th avenue to the shriners drinking fountain then regroup at the fountain and cooldown going back on the shriners run. I warmed up with Sarah S, Annie and Andy. Then When I got to the hill I strided up the hill with Bill then I stayed with Dakota along 11th avenue. Then I did the cooldown with Sam, Andy and Annie. Overall it was a good run because along 11th avenue it really allowed you to open up your stride. When I got home I did my 3 sets of weighted arm swings. Here is my Garmin Link:

This morning I went over to Steiner to Study AP Biology on the treadmill. So I did 2 miles there. 

PS. Never try to read flash cards while running on the treadmill..... I fell 8 times!!

PM: I went out for 3 miles, just a 1.5 mile out and back run because I needed a break from APUSH homework. When I got to the turnaround point I had to go to the bathroom really really bad so I decided to push hard to get back fast. So I did so. I surprisingly went faster than I thought I did. Then when I got home I did my 3 sets of weighted arm swings and stretched out my legs a lot, especially my hamstring and butt because they were really sore throughout the entire run.
